The Rosahl dehumidifier is designed to work effectively throughout an operating temperature range of below -10C to 50C (14 – 122F). It is not affected by the freezing point of water as it operates at the molecular level. The memrane at the heart of Rosahl works like an ionic pump.
When a voltage is applied to the membrane, the moisture on the inside of the enclosure breaks down (dissociates) into hydrogen ions (H ) and oxygen: the hydrogen ions migrate through membrane to be discharged on the outside side where they react with oxygen in the air, resulting in water molecules (gas), being discharged.
This enables Rosahl to work equally well in dehumidify enclosures at both low and high temperatures.
